Requisition No: 862372 Agency: Management Services Working Title: RETIREMENT COMPLIANCE AUDITOR - 72003123 Operations Review Specialist Division of Retirement State of Florida Department of Management Services This position is located in Tallahassee Position Overview and Responsibilities: Conduct audits of the payroll and personnel records of participating agencies of the Florida Retirement System to determine the accuracy of reports submitted to the department and to assess the degree of compliance with applicable statutes, rules, and coverage agreements. Specifically, this employee’s duties include: Develop assignment scopes, methodologies, and audit programs. Analyze supporting evidence, draw logical conclusions, and develop appropriate findings and recommendations. Prepare thorough, complete and accurate documentation of work performed, oral and written briefings, and assist audit management in preparing draft reports, final reports, and summary letters. Travel statewide to perform on-site audits. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Some knowledge of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountant’s Generally Accepted Auditing Standards, United States Government Accountability Office’s Government Auditing Standards, Institute of Internal Auditor’s Professional Practices Framework and Standards, the Association of Inspectors’ General Principles and Standards for Offices of Inspector General, and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association’s Standards. Ability to understand, interpret and appropriately apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing to express facts and ideas in a succinct and organized manner and make clear and convincing oral presentations. Ability to analyze problems using sound reasoning to identify alternative solutions and distinguish between relevant and irrelevant information. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments based upon objectives, identify problems and opportunities, monitor progress, and accomplish goals. Ability to learn and develop an understanding of complex organizational and financial processes and systems. Ability to establish and maintain a professional and effective working relationship with others by listening and facilitating open exchange of ideas. Experience with Microsoft Office products. Minimum Qualifications: Six years of professional experience in the area of auditing, fiscal work, or statistics. A postsecondary degree may be used as an alternative for years of experience on a year-for-year basis. A minimum of 1 year of experience in a retirement program at the Florida Division of Retirement or a minimum of 1 year experience auditing in an Office of Inspector General.
