Wan Bridge Group is a Texas-based premier developer, builder, and community manager for single-family build-for-rent (BFR) neighborhoods. Wan Bridge Group is looking for a talented, hard-working individual to join our team as the Controller. To be successful in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of Property Management Accounting practices. Ultimately, you will ensure compliance with accounting regulations, maximize profits and mitigate risks. Duties/Responsibilities
Perform, oversee and review month-end close processes, including preparation of account reconciliations (bank reconciliations and inter-company accounts), journal entries, account analysis, and monthly financial statement reviews for various entities. Prepare and review audit reconciliation schedules, prepare financial statements and footnotes, respond to auditors’ questions from other departments, and resolve problems. Assist in creating best accounting practices in line with accounting regulations. Ensure compliance with accounting and tax rules and regulations. Post monthly journal entries to the General Ledger and maintain financial records. Oversee the company’s accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. Create and maintain financial reports in the accounting systems. Establish standard operating processes for budgeting, financial reporting, cash management, revenue recognition, expenditures, and fixed assets to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial statements. Maintain filing systems for all financial documents and file income tax, franchise tax, and other applicable returns. Support Finance & Accounting initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other department-wide improvements. Perform treasury management functions including online banking, wire administration, daily cash reconciliations, cash flow projections, and serving as banking relationship liaison. Supervise, train and evaluate employees to enhance performance and development. Ensure confidentiality and security of all financial documents. Perform other related duties as required. Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Controller or in a similar role Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required CPA preferred Working knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations, and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) Strong knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and applicable legislation High accuracy in preparing and entering financial information Computer literacy (MS Excel, Outlook; DocuSign) Working knowledge of Yardi Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Strong organization and time management with the ability to handle multiple projects Previous management experience Essential Functions
Report to the Office/Community daily and adhere to a schedule that can include weekends and holidays Access, input, and retrieve information from computer systems Demonstrate strong organization, coordination, and project management skills Lift or move items up to 25 pounds Sit or stand for long periods and have reliable transportation Communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal Interact with customers, colleagues, and management as needed Wan Bridge is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
