. This position is a member of our Chief Budget & Efficiency Office Division. HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING Conduct analysis of risk assessments, perform moderately complex desk reviews and analysis of quarterly performance reviews to determine compliance with laws, rules, and regulations for RESTORE Program.

Perform statistical sampling of data. Examine and analyze the management operations, internal control systems and structures, and accounting records for reliability, adequacy, accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with legal regulations; report erroneous or questionable transactions.

Prepare annual audit reports of findings, outline discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions at the end of closed awards.

This also includes an annual review of the selected projects for desk reviews.

May conduct post-audit assessments.

Ensure compliance with Single Audit requirements of subrecipients and contractors.

Advise on the requirements, liabilities, and penalties of compliance and noncompliance, and recommend improved accounting or management operations system controls.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS Three (3) years of full-time experience working in the following (or closely related) fields: accounting, auditing, budget preparation/analysis, financial, statistical analysis, business, or public administration.

Experience with CAPPS, Comptroller Fiscal Policies and Procedures, Federal Funds management, researching and analyzing state statutes, and/or the GAA.

Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university plus three years of full-time experience in accounting, auditing, or an analytical field. One year of full-time experience in auditing, accounting, or an analytical field may substitute for each year (30 semester hours) of the required education. OR Certification as a public accountant (CPA) or internal auditor (CIA). Employees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility. Accordingly, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a requirement to be hired for and to continue to be employed with TCEQ. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in theAuditor IIIseries. Work Schedule Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. This position may offer an opportunity for independent work from approved locations within the state of Texas.
