Overview

The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is seeking to hire an Account Technician I for the Chester Mental Health Center located in Chester, Illinois to serve as a payroll/timekeeping technician for Chester Mental Health Center. It also serves as a facility timekeeper and payroll officer for an assigned area, a back-up to the Office Administrator III, and a back-up to the Business Office. It performs technical accounting work for Personnel Services and related expenditures. Responsibilities

Serves as a payroll/timekeeping technician for Chester Mental Health Center. Prepares, calculates, verifies and processes payroll deductions, corrections, changes and revocations as payroll officer. Back-up to the Office Administrator III by assisting with various functions in areas of Personnel Services, including employee schedules. Back-up to the Business Office by performing technical accounting work. Performs other duties as required or assigned within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications

Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college and completion of an approved training course OR three (3) years of related clerical bookkeeping experience. * Qualifying state employees, in the employee Upward Mobility Program, may complete combinations of specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements for this class. Conditions of Employment

Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers. Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
