CACI International Inc . Role supports the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Land Border Integration (LBI) Integrated Traveler Initiative ITI2.1 team in Northern Virginia. The team applies Agile Software Development practices and hardware integration to DHS missions. The role collaborates with the Engineering Manager to oversee multiple portfolios, align technology strategies, and ensure open architecture principles across systems and portfolios. What You’ll Get To Do
As the Portfolio Manager/Deputy Engineer on the CBP ITI2.1 program, you will: Support the Engineering Manager in establishing the technical vision for larger projects and coordinating work across multiple portfolio or product teams Guide portfolios in leveraging Agile best practices and processes Work with technical teams to deliver across the System Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) from technical design to rollout Facilitate rapid feature integration and track key metrics Design and own technical solutions for broad or complex requirements with strategic approaches Describe, analyze, and drive agreement on major technical decisions Contribute to Basis of Estimate (BOE) and Bill of Materials (BOM) buildups Supervise and oversee engineering activities within projects (planning, information security, performance management, testing and validation, risk assessment, staff development, etc.) Assist in security-risk analyses for system changes (e.g., IPv4 to IPv6 transitions) Review engineering roadmaps, product initiatives, timetables, proposals, and evaluations with leadership Identify opportunities for innovation, process improvement, and operational efficiency Assist Portfolio Managers and technical SMEs in designing/evaluating analyses of alternatives for vendor/technology decisions Identify, assess, and resolve complex business problems/risks Assist with contractor team and supplier assessments May perform other duties as assigned You Have
Must be a U.S. Citizen with ability to pass CBP background investigation (felony checks, drug use checks, misconduct checks as specified) Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a technical discipline; 7 years of IT experience Strong business acumen with experience in roadmap planning, execution, and scheduling Experience managing portfolios of Agile software development teams Hybrid schedule with on-site requirement in Sterling, VA You Are Good At
Excellent verbal and written communication Understanding of SDLC and software delivery lifecycle Experience with Agile Scrum and incremental development Ability to collaborate across teams and adapt in Agile environments Problem-solving and analytical skills Bonus
Current CBP application experience Model Based Systems Engineering experience PMI PMP Certification ITIL Foundation Certification What You Can Expect
