Description
SUMMARY: The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial procedures and confirming financial compliance through preparation of a company’s reports and statements.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization. Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements. Posts accounts receivable cash to accounting software daily. Handles customer requests for invoices/statements, releases orders for customer service. Manages AR Aging report and collects on past due invoices. Maintains the general ledger. Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books. Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts. Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts. Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit. Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies. Coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software. Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures. Performs other related duties and special projects assigned.
Qualifications
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business management, accounting, or finance Experience: 5+ years experience in the manufacturing industry Must have strong technical and analytical skills with a solid cost accounting background. Ability to build professional relationships with internal and external clients. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections with a strong attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to make solid, objective, ethical decisions. Able to maintain strict confidence in financial sensitive information and demonstrate a high level of integrity. Excellent communication and analysis skills required accompanied with a persona of a high character teammate. Demonstrable experience with PCs, financial spreadsheets, and accounting software. Preferred experience specifically working with AMTECH reporting software. Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel productions Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse environment and interact effectively with other groups and departments, clients, and partners.
