Mortgage Loan Officer

Location: 1101 Pacific Avenue - Tacoma, Washington 98402 Job Summary The Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) assists clients with the origination of residential mortgage loans, providing analysis and advice on home lending solutions that meet their needs and financial objectives. The MLO develops referrals to grow Key's home lending business and client base, aiming to meet or exceed sales goals while maintaining high standards of client satisfaction and loan quality. Essential Functions Prospect and develop new client relationships for home lending. Originate and process a targeted number of residential mortgage transactions following Home Lending guidelines. Inform clients about mortgage options, interest rates, and terms to aid informed decision-making. Gather necessary documents and serve as the primary contact during the loan process. Ensure high client satisfaction and maintain efficient sales workflows. Maintain knowledge of KeyBank products, services, and market trends. Operate in a branch environment, providing in-person services 4+ days/week, including participating in team huddles and debriefs. Perform additional duties as assigned, which may change over time. Adhere to all company policies and ethical standards, acting in the best interest of clients and the bank. Education Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience (preferred) Work Experience 3+ years experience as a loan officer in 1st mortgage production (preferred) Knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, TIL regulations, and local real estate laws (preferred) Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer service and sales skills, including prospecting and relationship management. Financial acumen to analyze market trends and advise clients. Ability to manage the loan process from application to closing. Build partnerships with real estate agents and financial advisors. Driving Requirements Ability to drive to multiple locations; valid driver’s license required. Compensation and Benefits Hourly rate of $16.66, plus short-term incentives based on performance.
