Principal Technical Accounting Analyst

to join their team. The ideal candidate will have their bachelor’s degree, at least 8 years of experience in accounting/auditing, their CPA, strong GAAP/SEC understanding, and experience working with external SEC reporting. The

Principal Technical Accounting Analyst

role is a hybrid role, with 3 days each week being onsite. This is a client direct hire position. Principal Technical Accounting Analyst Key Accountabilities Interpret U.S. GAAP and SEC guidance to determine and document accounting and financial reporting treatment for new or complex transactions. Review material revenue contracts under ASC 606 and lease contracts under ASC 842. Support the Technical Accounting and External Reporting Manager with audit requests, external reporting inputs, and deliverables for quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements. Coordinate with auditors on preparation of audited financial statements and internal controls compliance. Assist with preparation and submission of financial and operational reporting to regulatory agencies (e.g., FERC, MPSC). Research emerging accounting issues and implement related policies and procedures. Identify and support process improvement initiatives. Contribute to a positive work environment, including training and development of team members. Principal Technical Accounting Analyst Minimum Education & Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. Minimum of 8 years’ accounting and/or auditing experience. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required. Strong knowledge of GAAP and SEC guidance. Experience with external SEC reporting for a public company. MBA or Master’s in Accountancy preferred. Public accounting experience preferred. Principal Technical Accounting Analyst Other Requirements Ability to drive change and achieve project goals. Proficiency in MS Office products and Workiva. Ability to implement operating system tools and techniques. Strong leadership and mentoring skills. Ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization. Excellent communication, both written and verbal, including presentation skills. Working knowledge of financial systems and reporting tools. Base pay range: $106,000.00/yr - $151,000.00/yr
