The CalPERS Financial Office is seeking a Financial Accountant II Supervisor within the Financial Reporting and Accounting Services Division, Accounting Services Section. Under the supervision of the Financial Accountant III, the Financial Accountant II (FA II) Supervisor is responsible for: Managing and directing the daily operations of the Accounts Payable Unit. Directing the unit's complex accounting functions including accurate and timely processing of disbursements, general ledger account reconciliations, and reporting for administrative and investment-related expenses and various funds. Ensuring compliance with governmental accounting standards, preparing and analyzing financial reports, and developing policies and procedures to maintain efficient and controlled accounting practices. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, auditors, control agencies, and the custodian bank, to address complex financial issues and implement new initiatives. Special Requirements
Statement of Qualifications (SOQ)
is required. Applications received without the SOQ will not be considered. The SOQ must be titled “Statement of Qualifications,” numbered, and include all relevant experience, education, and training. The SOQ must not exceed two pages and must not use font smaller than Arial 11 point. See the Special Requirements section for questions and details. Minimum Qualifications
All experience and education relating to the Minimum Qualifications (MQs) listed on the Classification Specification should be included in your application package. If you are using education to meet MQs, include transcripts. If your degree is from outside the United States, submit an evaluation for US equivalency.
