Job Summary DerbySoft is seeking a Financial Analyst with strong financial acumen and attention to detail to join our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team.
The Financial Analyst will act as the financial consultant and business partner to support key business units and departments, working closely with various internal leaders and stakeholders. You will be the right-hand financial partner, the subject matter expert on your business partner’s operations & financials, actively engage in (and at times lead) business discussions, meet with business partners regularly, present financial results/findings to management, create financial models to support or inform business decisions, improve existing models, establish budgets and forecasts, and support ad hoc requests. You will also collaborate with our finance teams in accounting, taxes, AR/AP, etc.

Key Responsibilities and Duties The FP&A discipline focuses on holistic and consistent analysis—ensuring all financial components are organized and defined to tell the complete story. Your major responsibilities include:
Monthly Recurring Financial Analysis
Create, analyze, and present monthly financial results comparing actuals versus budget, forecast, and prior year for assigned units and departments.
Define and measure revenue and operational efficiency indicators to aid management.
Articulate findings clearly to business partners and finance management.
Pull, review, and correct raw data from financial systems to ensure reporting accuracy.
Visualize financial results effectively for stakeholders.
Research variances and summarize findings for leadership and partners.
Streamline reporting processes.
Quarterly Recurring Financial Analysis
Update quarterly forecasts with insights from business partners.
Prepare forecast data for consolidation and review.
Assess risks and opportunities, updating forecasts accordingly.
Contribute to quarterly board presentations with commentary.
Annual Recurring Financial Analysis
Establish annual budgets, ensuring consistency across categories and years.
Coordinate with FP&A colleagues for holistic financial views.
Prepare budget data for leadership reviews and board presentations.
All Other Financial Analysis
Support profitability analysis and data mining for products and customers.
Conduct competitor benchmarking and analysis.
Identify and support process improvements.
Assist with ad hoc financial support to teams.
Experience & Education
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
3-5 years of FP&A experience; industry experience in travel technology or startups is a plus.
Proficiency in Excel and FP&A tools like PowerBI.
Experience handling large datasets, reconciliation, and data cleansing.
Stakeholder management across disciplines and time zones preferred.
Chinese (Mandarin) language skills highly preferred.
