We provide CANVAS, a platform offering financial advisors an unprecedented level of control in creating and managing client portfolios in separately managed accounts (SMAs). What are the Responsibilities of the Investment Team? The guiding philosophy is Learn, Build, Share, Repeat. The investment team is a generalist group; Portfolio Managers should possess deep knowledge of every aspect of the portfolio lifecycle—from idea generation to trade implementation—across objectives (passive, factor, income, or defensive). Our ongoing research uses statistics, math, and computer science applied to finance. What are the Responsibilities of the Portfolio Manager?

Portfolio Managers are responsible for activities within multiple functional areas. The PM’s tasks include advancing investment capabilities in each area: Factor Signals

– researching new and improving existing alpha‑oriented factors

Portfolio Construction

– collaborating with analysts and developers to maintain and refine portfolio construction processes

Tax Management

– enhancing tax loss harvesting framework and optimizations

Risk Management

– monitoring portfolios for client mandates, risk, and tax budgets

Implementation

– daily collaboration with the implementation team to facilitate trading in client accounts

Platform Capabilities

– working with analysts and developers to refine tools used to research, manage, and implement client portfolios

Ideal Qualifications, Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to make investment decisions, prioritize projects, and work collaboratively. Candidates should have experience managing live portfolios, using risk models, optimization, and/or quantitative portfolio construction. Practical knowledge of computational methods such as regression, optimization, and statistical analyses

Coding skills in Python, C#, and/or SQL (preference for C# in some roles, but not required)

Strong knowledge of relational data structures

Experience in quantitative portfolio management or direct indexing (custom indexing) preferred; ideal candidates have at least 5 years of experience

Ability to communicate effectively

CFA preferred

Ability to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future
