Description The Lead IT Network Engineer is a mainly strategic role with operational responsibilities. They’ll be responsible for the secure, stable, and optimized operations of the Credit Union’s network infrastructure, firewalls, remote access services, network hardware, and communication links. What You Will Be Doing: Lead efforts around managing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and securing network and system hardware and software, including VPN, firewall, IDS/IPS, Public Cloud, and WAF Ensure upgrades, updates, and patches are planned, tested, and completed, maintaining compliance with vendor requirements, standards, and control procedures Review and approve end user accounts, permissions, and access rights to network devices Perform system backups and recovery of network devices Monitor and test network performance and provide statistics and reports to leadership in automated/on demand fashion Manage and support all communication links throughout the network Maintain inventory of hardware and software Create and maintain documentation as it relates to the system configurations, mapping, processes, services, and infrastructure Responsible for the development and testing of a comprehensive Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Plan (DR/BCP) associated with the credit union’s systems and networks. Represent networks in projects and ensure appropriate resourcing, and timelines are established Follow change management procedures and communicate to the appropriate parties when implementing changes Lead efforts to design and deploy new solutions and enhancements to the network infrastructure and software and plan and document standards for approval Interact and collaborate with vendors, partners, and contractors to enhance and secure network products and services Ensure all network implementations are consistent with IT Security best practices Perform network design and capacity planning Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network resource administration Mentor junior members of the networking team in professional development and assist the Infrastructure Manager in developing training programs. Maintain knowledge of current and evolving networking technology About You: Strong written and oral communication skills Strong interpersonal, leadership, and mentoring skills Analytical and problem-solving skills and experience leading technical troubleshooting exercises Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment Keen attention to detail Ability to work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment Ability to discuss technical issues effectively with other IT professionals as well as non-technical users Ability to build/set schedules and adhere to project deadlines Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field required.
