Overview
Job Title: Senior .NET Developer – Investment Banking Experience Required.
Location: New York, NY
Duration: Contract W2 Only
Responsibilities
Design and build cloud-native applications (microservices, function apps, and cloud databases) on the Microsoft tech stack.
Design and build services using REST and SOAP.
Design and develop databases with SQL Server, handling large data sets, performance optimization, and debugging techniques.
Lead and collaborate with global teams; contribute to building custom, net-new solutions from the ground up.
Work with modern frontend frameworks and UI component libraries (e.g., Angular, DevExpress, AG Grid).
Utilize integration services, reporting platforms, and workflow platforms; optimize performance for data-heavy applications.
Implement Azure-based solutions, including App Services, Functions, Service Bus / Event Grid / Event Hub, Storage, and Key Vault; secure APIs with API Management.
Apply security and compliance practices: Azure AD authentication, OAuth2, OpenID Connect, RBAC; monitor and troubleshoot with Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.
Ensure scalability and performance in Azure environments with auto-scaling, load balancing, and global distribution (Azure Front Door / Azure CDN).
Design and implement messaging and event-driven architectures using Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, and Event Hub.
Adhere to SDLC methodologies and best practices; contribute to project management activities as needed.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Finance, or other relevant field. Master’s degree is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 8 years of experience; proven expertise in designing and building cloud-native applications and .NET technology stack (.NET Framework, .NET Core, C#, ADO.NET, LINQ, Entity Framework, Dapper).
Experience building services (REST / SOAP) and database design/development with SQL Server (DDL/DML, tables, views, stored procedures, functions, indexes, Dynamic SQL); capable of handling large data, performance optimization, and debugging.
Experience managing global teams; experience writing business logic with optimal performance in C# and SQL; building custom, net-new solutions from the ground up.
Experience with modern frontend frameworks (Angular, DevExpress, AG Grid) and other UI component libraries.
Strong understanding of integration services, reporting platforms, and workflow platforms; familiarity with performance optimization for data-heavy apps.
Technical/Cloud:
Microsoft Azure expertise including App Services, Functions, Service Bus / Event Grid / Event Hub, Storage, Key Vault, API Management; security controls (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, RBAC); observability (Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics).
Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, Bootstrap, AJAX, XML/JSON, REST API); JavaScript libraries/frameworks (Angular, D3.js, RxJS, jQuery).
Experience with IDEs (Visual Studio Code, Microsoft Visual Studio), databases (Cosmos DB, Microsoft SQL Server); version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines; familiarity with Azure DevOps/Boards; agile methodologies (Scrum, XP).
Domain:
Relevant experience in finance, asset management is a plus; base understanding of core data concepts (assets, positions, trades, funds, marks) is a plus.
Soft skills: Strong problem-solving, proactive communication, ability to work independently and in a team, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
