Overview The
SCADA Team Lead
will be an essential part of our team to grow the consulting practice in the Operational Technology and Real-Time Systems domain. Will consider candidates near other TRC offices (https://www.trccompanies.com/offices/).
Responsibilities
Lead a team of SCADA engineers across multiple industries and applications (e.g., Distribution Electric ADMS with VVO and FLISR; Midstream Pipeline).
Directly work on SCADA projects, lead SCADA workstreams and workshops, including SCADA database migration and build, SCADA displays, SCADA RTU updates, and Point-to-Point testing.
Contribute to plan/design of SCADA and ADMS systems and integrations, including ICCP.
Troubleshoot complex issues with technical experts to resolve challenges.
Identify and address gaps in execution processes.
Understand data architecture and dependencies for SCADA/ADMS/EMS to drive system builds, implementations, and end-to-end testing with upstream/downstream systems.
Partner with IT teams to ensure data interfaces meet requirements.
Provide real-time support to operations by analyzing and resolving application and data issues to ensure high-quality solutions.
Conduct system and acceptance testing to ensure functionality.
Support go-live cutover and hypercare.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in the Distribution Electrical Utility or Pipeline industry with SCADA project implementation and/or operational support and management of SCADA, ADMS, and related applications.
Direct experience with leading SCADA/ADMS vendor platforms such as GE, AspenTech/OSI, ABB, Schneider Electric, or Oracle.
Experience working on multi-disciplinary teams with defined project execution processes.
Experience across Plan, Design, Build, Test, Cutover, and Support phases.
Experience with SCADA system commissioning and deployment to live operations; familiarity with Distribution Control Center and Line operations and working with Operators and Linemen.
5+ years of management experience with at least 4 direct reports.
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or power systems engineering, computer science, or equivalent.
One or more of the following areas:
Electric Distribution SCADA/ADMS applications (data acquisition, alarms, RTU configurations, tagging, testing, displays, scripting) and ADMS features (state estimation, DPFL, VVO, FLISR).
Advanced Gas Pipeline applications (gas measurement, nominations/forecasting, CRM).
