Overview
The Department of Economics at St. Lawrence University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level beginning August 2026. We seek candidates who teach and conduct research in finance/financial economics and who are prepared to teach both introductory and upper-level finance courses appropriate to the candidate’s expertise in contribution to our finance major. The finance major is housed in the Department of Economics, which consists of 12 members covering a broad range of fields (including finance) and interests. The typical teaching assignment is 3 courses per semester consisting of 2 preparations per semester. We are committed to excellence in teaching and scholarship in a diverse liberal arts environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Teach and conduct research in finance/financial economics. Prepare and teach both introductory and upper-level finance courses to support the finance major. Contribute to department and program goals, including curriculum development and student mentoring. Maintain a record of scholarly activity and professional service consistent with tenure-track expectations.
Minimum Qualifications
PhD or ABD’s near completion; advanced assistant professors will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
Salary range is $95,000 - $108,000 annually. The actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and other factors permitted by law.
