Nuclear Oversight Supply Auditor- Birmingham

Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC), headquartered in Birmingham, AL, operates Southern Company's eight nuclear reactors at three locations in Georgia and Alabama. Job Duties & Responsibilities Plan, schedule and perform audits and commercial grade surveys of suppliers of safety-related material, equipment, and services to assure acceptable adherence to applicable quality requirements. Perform evaluations of supplier QA programs to assure that suppliers continue to maintain acceptable quality standards and maintain supplier's acceptability status on SNC's Qualified Suppliers List (QSL). Ensure on-time and accurate submission of quality audit reports. Analyze findings identified during audits, surveys, or surveillances to determine the effectiveness of the supplier’s quality program. Respond to inquiries and requests regarding suppliers from Southern Nuclear's Supply Chain and Procurement Engineering departments. Track and follow-up on supplier findings and corrective actions identified in audits or surveys. Education Bachelor’s Degree is preferred (Engineering or Technical Degree) Experience Minimum of 5 years nuclear experience Prior experience in performing supplier quality audits is preferred Certified as an Audit Team Leader (ATL) per ASME NQA-1-1994 Edition or ANSI N45.2.23 is preferred. Ability to obtain a valid US Passport. Knowledge Skills & Abilities Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements Demonstrated strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills Demonstrated strong organizational skills. Proficient in Windows and MS Office applications. Strong teamwork skills. Ability and availability to travel to perform supplier audits and surveys.
