Overview
Baptist Health is looking for a Prenatal Genetic Counselor to join our team in Louisville, KY. The Prenatal Genetic Counselor provides genetic counseling to prenatal patients, supporting the Baptist Health Louisville and Baptist Health Lexington maternal fetal medicine practices. The counselor participates in care for women referred for the full spectrum of preconception and pregnancy-related genetic indications. Services are provided both in person and by telehealth. Risk assessment, coordination of genetic testing, and interpretation of genetic test results are integral responsibilities. This position is part of a supportive team of maternal fetal medicine providers, as well as a genetic counseling team comprised of genetic counselors and genetic counseling assistants. The Prenatal Genetic Counselor should be eager, motivated, and passionate about reproductive genetic counseling, with strong clinical care and communication skills and the ability to collaborate with patients and colleagues.
Responsibilities
• Provide genetic counseling to prenatal patients, including risk assessment and interpretation of genetic test results. • Coordinate genetic testing and communicate results to patients and care teams. • Deliver services in person and via telehealth as needed, in collaboration with maternal fetal medicine providers. • Work as part of a team of genetic counselors and genetic counseling assistants to support patient care.
Qualifications
Master of Science in Genetic Counseling or equivalent Two or more years of experience as a clinical genetic counselor ABGC Board certification or Active Candidate Status Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure Genetic Counselor license or eligibility
