Overview

Area Manager role at ABM Industries. Responsible for the day-to-day operation and administrative activities to ensure conformance to contract requirements, developing and implementing cost control measures and service standards for the assigned building, and overseeing inspections, quality control, and inventory control of equipment and supplies. Position Responsibilities

Coordinate service activities for the assigned building. Ensure services are performed as contracted and at the intended profit margins. Control supplies, equipment, and personnel necessary to meet customer specifications. Interact with customers daily to obtain feedback on services and address special needs; troubleshoot potential problems and concerns. Manage the company’s quality control monitoring and safety programs at the assigned buildings. Conduct quality of service inspections at assigned buildings. Attend ABM training workshops when scheduled. Develop operational improvement plans and implement process changes within assigned buildings. Identify opportunities to increase revenue by encouraging Supervisors to provide additional or periodic services to customers. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and all federal, state, and local regulations. Ensure that all paperwork, including terminations, labor variance action plans, and the operational model, is complete, accurate, and submitted timely to the district/hub. Analyze and manage, proactively, both the financial and operational performance of the assigned buildings. Ensure payroll is accurate and submitted timely; correct payroll discrepancies as needed. Collaborate with the District Manager to develop action plans for invoices outside contractual parameters. Lead Supervisors and Lead personnel assigned to the buildings. Provide direction, coordination, and evaluation of personnel within the assigned building; supervise in line with company policies and applicable laws. Appraise performance, reward and discipline employees, address complaints, resolve problems, and terminate employees when necessary. Be available during day and night operations by visiting sites regularly to understand routines and ensure team familiarity with the scope of work. Ensure each team member is proficient in the set scope of work and identify opportunities for efficiency and safe practices. Perform other duties as assigned or requested. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Associates degree is preferred but not mandatory. Minimum of three years of supervisory experience in a service/customer-oriented environment. Experience in cost estimating/pricing work. Ability to write reports and business correspondence and effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and customers. Previous Amazon experience is a plus. Knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Proven ability to work with various levels of staff and management. Position Details
