The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for the development and growth of their markets, geographic and demographic, which may include Group sales, travel advisors, consortium partners, collaboration partners, and total guest nights. This role also proactively develops and recommends strategic market initiatives and direction for the assigned market, monitors market and competitive trends and proactively recommends actionable items to grow market share for Canyon Ranch. In this role, you will work with property level sales teams and Business Development Managers on strategic and tactical initiatives to ensure alignment across the brand. You will also actively work to document leads and grow the database for email communication and marketing. Additionally, you will take a leadership role in virtual and in-person trade-show and event organizations, such as Virtuoso Travel Week, Wellness Webinars, Signature, Internova, Wellness Tourism Association and LE Miami.

Responsibilities

Sales Strategy: Design and implement business plans and sales strategies for both Group and Leisure markets, that ensure the growth of sales to the Austin resort. Stay current on competitive positioning, trends and compression within the assigned marketplace. Remain informed on virtual and in-person sales opportunities to reach new clients.

Sales Activity: Conduct sales activities toward achievement of sales strategy, current goals and budgets. Be mindful, creative and "on-brand" with all sales activations.

Prepare and implement action plans to develop new corporate and social group leads.

Respond to leads and RFPs with accurate information, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin and preserve rate integrity.

Maintain a strong business relationship with all Canyon Ranch group customers.

Maintain contact with all clients in the market to ensure high levels of client satisfaction. May oversee administrative staff in the execution of proposals and contracts for all bookings.

Maximize our tools to discover new business (e.g., ZoomInfo, LinkedIn, DemandScience or CRM).

Be a Canyon Ranch brand ambassador at conventions, conferences and external meetings.

Collaboration: Proactive and regular communication with resort teams and in-market business development colleagues to ensure strategies and actions are synergistic, enabling all stakeholders to exceed revenue and guest night goals.

Other functions: Actively demonstrates Canyon Ranch service standards and Ethos principles with staff and guests; participate in meetings as required; travel up to 40% to other Canyon Ranch properties or vendor locations as needed; manage day-to-day sales and support efforts for the new Austin resort property.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience required in hospitality/leisure sales.

Relationships with Amex FHR and Capital One Premier Collection a plus.

Technical: Experience with Opera Cloud, Salesforce and/or Microsoft BI.

Education: Minimum Associate degree or two-year equivalent specialized training or experience required. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving history.

COMPENSATION : The base annual salary for this role takes into account several factors that are considered in making decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
