Overview
Full Time Nanny required for a Brooklyn family with one daughter (born 2018), starting ASAP. Specific duties to be negotiated with the family, but in general, you will be responsible for providing engaging care, age appropriate learning and activities and child related cooking/tidying/cleaning for their daughter as well as general household support as time permits. Family expectations
The family (new to NYC) is looking for someone warm, active and energetic who is comfortable creating clear, fair guidelines with a bright and articulate 7 yr old. A nanny who encourages creativity and passions, is self aware and curious about the world as well as a clear + efficient communicator will be a great match for this family. This is a fast-paced and demanding role with high expectations; proven ability to juggle multiple priorities and having a team oriented mindset while showing good judgement + common sense is essential. To be successful, you will need to be detail oriented, have proven ability to show initiative across all tasks and want to partner with parents who value mutual respect and boundaries. The ideal candidate is a proactive individual who has energy for busy days, is engaged during activities and an overall role model for their daughter. Responsibilities
Care for one daughter (age 7) with engagement, age-appropriate learning and activities Child related cooking/tidying/cleaning for the daughter General household support as time permits Adapt to evolving needs of a busy home with two working parents Be flexible with schedule, including later days to facilitate after school pick up, homework and activities Coordinate with parents to maintain routines and boundaries Work hours and schedule
Location: Park Slope, Brooklyn, NY Start date: ASAP Days/times: Monday to Friday with general schedule landing between 8am - 7pm; guaranteed at least 40 hrs per week. Hours may skew later and increase to 40+ during busier weeks or when parents are traveling. No consistent travel is expected, but flexibility for later evenings and weekend support is expected when needed. Children
One daughter (age 7) Compensation and benefits
$30 - $35 per hour* plus unlimited monthly metro card, sick/personal days, public holidays and two weeks paid leave per year. Family open to providing healthcare stipend for the perfect candidate. *dependent on experience Qualifications
A minimum of 3 years experience as a nanny, 5-10 years preferred in NYC A well-suited demeanor for working with school age children Exceptional childcare references that attest to strong communication skills, reliability, punctuality, maturity and high emotional intelligence Education or equivalent knowledge of ages and stages of child growth and development Readiness to help with light housekeeping and all tasks related to childcare (healthy meal and snack prep, organizing, laundry, child related errands, etc.) Flexibility and interest in early/late hours as needed, ad hoc weekend support and overnight care in Brooklyn, domestic and/or international travel (with advance notice) Demonstrates professionalism and discretion at all times, reflecting the high standards and values prioritized by the family Comfortable with pets - family has a calm, well trained fox labrador and daily walks are expected
