Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences Responsibilities The Department of Educational Psychology and Learning Systems in the Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences is seeking a Clinic Director for the
Assessment, Learning Evaluation, & Counseling (ALEC) Center . The Florida State University (FSU) ALEC Clinic Director position is a specialized faculty role. The main roles for this position include overseeing the training and supervision of graduate students in ALEC, as well as serving as a Teaching Faculty I (core faculty) for the APA-accredited Combined PhD Program in Counseling Psychology & School Psychology. The Director must be able to perform direct clinical services as needed (e.g., intakes, test administration, conducting testing feedback, and coaching, consultation, and counseling with clients) for training purposes. The successful candidate will be required to: Oversee training and supervision of graduate students conducting psychological evaluations, counseling, and coaching in coordination with other faculty. Training and supervision occur as part of the teaching assignment each semester. Facilitate clinic workflow in conjunction with clinic staff, including conducting client intakes for assessments and assigning cases. Support the Executive Director on budget planning, scheduling, marketing, supply management, technology management, the creation/maintenance of clinic forms and manuals, and compliance with laws and policies for the clinic. Attend program faculty meetings. Serve on program and departmental committees (e.g., program admission and preliminary exam committees). Support research and training projects in conjunction with program faculty. Qualifications
PhD or PsyD in counseling, school, or clinical psychology from an APA-accredited program. Licensed (or license-eligible within 12 months) in psychology within the state of Florida. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong skills and background in psychological assessment, psychoeducational services, knowledge of ADA and accessibility services, a passion for professional mentorship and teaching, an interest in working with a student body from all backgrounds, and collaborating with colleagues and professionals in the field. Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates with experience in clinical supervision, assessment, and clinic management. Strong professional communication, multi-tasking, and customer service skills are recommended. Other Information The department also has a NASP-accredited School Psychology program and CACREP-approved programs in Mental Health Counseling, School Counseling, and Career Counseling. Our faculty brings a broad range of experiences and research interests, and we are eager to welcome a new team member who will enhance our department, academic programs, and ALEC. The roots of FSU’s Anne Spencer Daves College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences date back to the university’s establishment, and it is the oldest college of its kind in Florida. Recently expanded in 2023, the College is home to six academic departments united through a common goal to maximize human potential.
