Responsibilities

The Regional EHS Manager is responsible for partnering with an Operations Team in fulfillment to execute company EHS policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local, regional and federal regulations. This individual will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for our associates. This Regional EHS Manager must demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations Team and influence change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and EHS data analysis. The Regional EHS Manager will be responsible to lead and develop a team of EHS professionals. This individual must create and execute leadership development plans for their teams. They must communicate team expectations and provide frequent feedback, and ensure the team is executing to the core competencies of an EHS professional. This position is also accountable for ensuring that Lakeside Book maximizes Safety opportunities throughout the facility; both internally and externally, and consistently leverages best practices.

Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable Lakeside Book EHS Policies

Possess a thorough understanding of local/regional/domestic regulations and company policy

Leads initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for our employees

Establishes high quality relationships with both site and operational leadership

Measure the fulfillments performance against published requirements in EHS policies. For all deficiencies, identify a plan for the site to implement and fix all identified deficiencies. Drive accountability for the plan

Analyze EHS metrics and review incident trends to justify the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the EHS risk is highest

Perform frequent site EHS audits to identify all non-compliance equipment and/or processes at the site. Implement solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks and prevent injury at the fulfilment locations

Audit recordkeeping practices and OSHA entries to ensure compliance to OSHA standards and local regulations

Audit the workplace organization and employee behaviors to ensure that training, auditing and scoring methods are accurate and consistent

Ensure site leadership and employees are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy. Audit the quality, delivery (including qualifications of the trainer), and effectiveness of all required EHS training.

Must be able to work flexible shifts, which could include day, nights, and weekends

Conduct hazard assessment, including identification of hazards and corrective action plans

Facilitate safety committee meetings, environmental solutions and drive changes in manufacturing processes/systems that lead to reduction in environmental waste streams

Lead investigations on any environmental non-compliance incidents and provide urgent response to operational issues

Provide project support for corporate EH&S initiatives

Manage the fulfillment sites safety and industrial hygiene programs and ensure compliance with internal and external safety and health regulations and policies

What You Bring

BS degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Management or closely related field.

Minimum of 10 years demonstrated EHS experience in a manufacturing environment, including both environmental and safety experience.

Experience within a world-class safety organization highly desirable.

Substantive experience developing and implementing EH&S programs internationally.

Thorough knowledge of EH&S related government regulations and nationally recognized standards within the US.

Building organizational talent and team development.

Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

5 Years experience in Workers’ Compensation management.
