Overview
We are seeking a Senior Associate level attorney with a strong background in guidance on a spectrum of matters, from fundamental estate plans to intricate business succession arrangements as well as estate administration. The ideal candidate has significant experience and knowledge advising clients and their families on complex estate planning techniques. Responsibilities
Handle a variety of estate, wealth, and succession planning matters, such as asset protection, business succession planning, establishing a family estate plan, elder law planning, probate administration, special needs planning, and tax minimization & complex planning. Meet with clients to discuss their estate planning needs, goals, and concerns, and provide guidance on options such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives. Prepare and customize legal documents, including wills, various types of trusts, and advance directives. Assist executors and trustees with the probate process, asset distribution, and tax filings. Prepare Federal estate and gift tax returns. Advise clients on methods to minimize estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer taxes. Represent clients in probate court proceedings if disputes arise or wills are contested. Stay current with changes in estate planning and tax laws. Maintain long-term relationships with clients, provide ongoing advice and updates, and act as a resource for their estate planning questions. Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Masters of Laws (LLM) in Taxation programs is preferred but not required. 5+ years of estate planning law experience. Experience representing individuals and businesses seeking effective solutions for their wealth and succession planning needs. Significant tax planning experience. Licensed to practice law in the state of Ohio is required and Florida is preferred. Proficiency with estate planning software, such as InterActive Legal or similar. Demonstrated excellence in legal writing and analysis. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills and a client-focused approach. What we offer
