We're seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sr. HR Generalist to join our close-knit HR team of three in Vancouver, Washington. This is a rare opportunity to step into a role with immediate ownership of recruiting, payroll, and HR systems — while being developed as the future successor to our Vice President of Human Resources.

What You’ll Do
Recruiting Strategy Development & Onboarding Ownership (50%)
Lead corporate and field recruiting efforts across multiple states, including rural and hard-to-fill roles. Develop proactive pipelines and creative sourcing strategies to shorten time-to-fill (targeting 45 days or less). Partner with universities, trade schools, and local communities to build long-term talent channels. Create and document UGC’s first formal recruiting strategy & processes. Prepare bi-weekly payroll processing through Paycom, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Manage the specialized union payroll process (PMA) with precision and attention to detail. Responsible for benefits administration, deferred comp, and 401k processes. Advance UGC’s digitization goals by streamlining Paycom workflows and automations. Strategic HR Partnership & Growth (10%)
Support succession planning, employee development, and organizational effectiveness initiatives. Provide compliance oversight as a federal contractor, including affirmative action reporting. Partner with leaders on HR policies, employee relations, and best practices. Build trusted relationships across the organization while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent experience). SHRM-CP/SCP certification preferred but not required. Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR Generalist experience, with demonstrated expertise in recruiting, onboarding, payroll, and benefits administration. Strong technical aptitude with HRIS/payroll systems (Paycom experience a plus). Experience designing and improving recruiting processes. High level of accuracy, organizational skills, and follow-through. Ability to thrive in an autonomous, results-driven culture with flexibility for a 24/7 operation.
