Laboratory Technician I - Organic Prep (Su-Th, 3pm - 12am) Eurofins Environment Testing Southwest - Calscience, Tustin, CA
Eurofins Environmental Testing Southwest is seeking a Laboratory Technician I in Tustin, CA. The Sample Preparation Laboratory Technician I uses general laboratory methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with Eurofins Quality Assurance programs and SOPs to weigh, digest, and prepare soil and water samples for GC and GCMS analysis. Laboratory Technician I responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Evaluate backlog and prioritize daily workload based on due dates and holding times. Retrieve samples from storage for preparation. Weigh and measure sample aliquots for preparation. Document required sample preparation details and observations. Prepare reagents and standards for daily use. Maintain laboratory equipment in accordance with the laboratory quality assurance program. Perform daily duties while adhering to environmental health and safety policies. Wash laboratory glassware as needed. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment. Communicate with department manager, analytical team, and project managers about job status, rush ETA, sample matrix issues, and holding times. Assist other areas of the laboratory as needed. Qualifications Basic Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent High school chemistry coursework, basic laboratory experience Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without sponsorship Professional working proficiency in English (read, write, and speak) The ideal candidate would possess: General knowledge of chemistry and/or general science Basic mathematical skills Strong problem-solving skills Ability to learn quickly and multi-task Ability to work independently Ability to work within time constraints Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies Additional Information Compensation range:
$18 - $22 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Full-time position with possible overtime and weekends as needed. Shift: Sunday - Thursday, 3 PM – 12 AM.
