Job Description

We are seeking a qualified candidate for the Hand Surgery/Hospital Based Services APP Supervisor 2 role at UC Davis Clinical and Translational Science Center. The successful candidate will provide independent advanced level advanced practice provider clinical expertise to patients and their families on an ongoing basis and oversee other advanced practice providers. This includes managing scheduling, time off requests, and organizational oversight of the work unit to ensure the competence and qualifications of direct reports. Key responsibilities include: Providing direct patient care to a diversified patient population Applying knowledge, experience, and judgment to determine the importance of a situation, set priorities, and use abstract thought to evaluate clinical situations Acting as an expert resource person for healthcare providers, including nurses, residents, and other ancillary staff Minimum qualifications include: Valid California Registered Nurse license and Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant license Valid California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing license, if a Nurse Practitioner Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate within 3 months of hire National Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant board certification in an aligned specialty with the practice area American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR or UC Davis Health CPR American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 7 days of hire Graduation with a master’s degree, DNP, or PhD from an accredited School of Nursing or Physician Assistant school Two years or greater recent experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Orthopedics, Hand Surgery, and/or Emergency Medicine At least six months of experience with precepting, orienting, and Advanced Practice Provider education Preferred qualifications include one year or greater experience as a leader with direct reports.
