New Alternate Delivery Requisition Sr. Geotechnical Engineer – Bridge, Tunnel, Infrastructure Terracon has a fantastic opportunity to join our growing Alternate Delivery organization. This group works on our larger transportation projects across the US. The position can be filled anywhere within the US. In this role, you will provide engineering and consulting services for transportation projects and clients. This may include performing and/or leading field investigations, engineering analysis, calculations, and recommendations, design and development of plans and specifications, observation and inspection, and the writing, preparation, and review of related reports for the services provided. Review drawings and construction to assure compliance with plans and specifications. Prepare proposals and cost estimates, track and evaluate project progress, budgets, and recommend changes. Research and resolve design and construction problems. Assign, review, and evaluate laboratory or field data for inclusion in reports. Communicate complex engineering issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams. Services may be provided for existing or proposed projects in the transportation sector. Project management and/or technical leadership experience for large-scale transportation projects is preferred, with the ability to manage all aspects of a geotechnical engineering project, including project teams, to verify that it is safely completed on time and within scope and budget. Examples Of The Work Required

Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers and project managers for analysis and design of foundations for bridges, marine structures, and large infrastructure, supporting all project phases Develop Site Characterization reports including a geotechnical/geological narrative of site conditions along the alignment to identify difficult ground conditions and project risks Provide geotechnical design recommendations and supporting documentation for earthwork, considering planned cuts/fills, for estimating construction quantities and assessing impacts to existing or planned improvements Perform advanced soil-structure interaction, geotechnical, and dynamic analysis using finite element software, and execute geotechnical/structural design Utilize industry-standard software for deep and shallow foundation design and provide recommendations to structural team members Conduct geotechnical analyses to support retaining wall recommendations; ensure analyses meet code requirements Analyses Included

External stability analysis (bearing resistance, sliding, overturning, eccentricity) Settlement analyses (short-term, total, rate) Rotational stability Identify geotechnical risk items that may impact design and/or construction costs/schedules Essential Roles and Responsibilities

Lead safety efforts for the team and ensure safety rules and guidelines are followed Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects; ensure best practices are followed and quality control standards are met Plan, schedule, conduct, and/or coordinate engineering work involving conventional engineering practices, including complex features Provide technical direction for production and completion of unique or complex projects Manage the team in conceptualizing the initial design and investigative approach for major transportation projects or segments Monitor activities, allocate resources, and assign tasks to meet targets Provide review of complex projects and supervise analysis and recommendations in written reports to clients; provide technical review of reports Coordinate with lead project accountant for financial management, invoicing and collections Lead technical training and make informed decisions based on current technology Mentor and coach key project team members Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering Minimum 8-11 years of experience Professional Engineer (PE) registration Transportation experience with DOTs is required Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history Preferred Requirements

Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering 10+ years of experience This position is Remote Only. Remote employees do not have a designated workspace at an office and typically work from home or another location. The national standard salary range for this position is $125,000-$156,900. The base range may be adjusted based on the specific location of the applicant. Final compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience. About Terracon
