Overview Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers (KIE) is looking for a Utility Engineer with Land Development and/or Water & Wastewater experience to join this growing group. This opportunity will support project pursuits and awarded projects by engineering, coordinating, and managing Utilities on a variety of Kiewit’s largest projects. The candidate should be experienced with leading and performing the planning, design, and implementation of water and waste water on infrastructure projects, including distribution, conveyance, property interests, permitting, and storage systems. Oversee multidisciplinary teams and ensure technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and client satisfaction across all phases of project delivery.

Responsibilities

Design and manage water distribution, conveyance, and storage systems, including surface and groundwater supply.

Lead infrastructure planning and optimization efforts for water resources and challenged/reuse supply systems.

Oversee project execution using earned value management principles, ensuring budget, schedule, and quality targets are met.

Coordinate work across engineering, GIS, CAD, and sub-consultants to ensure consistency and high-quality deliverables.

Review and seal engineering calculations, drawings, and reports.

Mentor junior staff and promote a culture of technical excellence.

Maintain strong communication with clients, agencies, and internal teams.

Support business development through proposals, scope/fee development, and client engagement.

Collaborate with jurisdictions and contractors to ensure regulatory compliance and project success.

Qualifications

10+ years in utilities design; infrastructure engineering and/or design-build experience preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.

Professional Engineer license.

Experience with MicroStation, ProjectWise, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, BlueBeam.

Experience with AWWA, WEF, and ASCE governance of Utility Engineering.

Experience with various design standards for Water & Wastewater systems.

Experience with different construction techniques and constructability of utilities in design-build projects.

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with individuals at all levels.

Strong inter-personal skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.

Ability to organize and handle multiple project assignments and travel as needed.

Location This position could be based out of our Lone Tree, CO or Westlake, TX offices. Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates.

Base Compensation $110,000/yr - $140,000/yr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and location)
