Position: Senior Project Engineer

Location: Indianapolis, IN / Ft. Wayne, IN / Merrillville, IN / Evansville, IN / South Bend, IN / Columbus, OH / Cincinnati, OH / Cleveland, OH / Akron, OH

Position Summary The Senior Project Engineer position includes design, analysis, and construction document preparation for a variety of projects, which may include: regulatory compliance, funding sources, construction, utility management, utility relocations, drinking water (source of supply, treatment, residuals handling, pumping, distribution, storage), wastewater (collection, CSOs, lift stations, treatment, biosolids), and stormwater management (drainage, green infrastructure). Tasks include master planning, preparation of design drawings, specifications, calculations, permitting, construction administration and technical writing. Other responsibilities may include presentations and client communication. Project Engineers work under the direction and mentoring of Project Managers and Technical Directors.

Specific Duties

(experience will be dependent on available project types and workload needs)

The Senior Project Engineer is expected to be proficient at all of the tasks performed by Staff Engineers and to dive into the details of all aspects of the projects and tasks they are assigned to, whether that is a full design or a component thereof.

Responsibilities Technical

Perform all aspects of utility infrastructure design tasks

Assist Project Manager with other technical tasks as may be assigned

Correctly interpret regulatory requirements and related technical materials

Independently perform design calculations

Independently perform product research and evaluation

Identify project design issues and obtain assistance in resolving them

Possess a ability to think 'outside the box' with innovative ideas to provide solutions to clients

Possess a thorough understanding of Utility Infrastructure Group Standards

Prepare construction documents in accordance with Utility Infrastructure Group drafting standards

Develop exhibits and design drawings

Develop job-specific details for unique conditions

Develop technical specifications

Participate in local and/or national industry, professional, and community organizations

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelors or Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering, or Equivalent

Professional Engineering license

Registered engineer with 10+ years diversified in water, wastewater treatment, stormwater, collection and distribution experience
