SCADA Specialist - Programming

applies technical expertise to the different programming software associated with the SCADA systems. This includes the SCADA software (Wonderware), programmable logic controller (PLC) programming, operator interface terminal (OIT) programming, communication gateways, etc. Responsibilities

Plans, designs, installs, configures, programs, maintains, and modifies SCADA software including SCADA system databases, alarming strategies, SCADA screens (HMI), trending, report generation. Programs, modifies, and maintains the Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and associated systems including Operator Interface Terminals (OITs), communications gateways, and any other equipment necessary for the PLC network. Assists in the troubleshooting of processes within the Water and Wastewater systems of the SJRA. Utilizes various tools and software to tune control loops and optimize the operation of the River Authority's facility and to program and configure control systems logic and user interfaces and tune control loops on systems such as PLCs. Assist in the analysis, troubleshooting, and maintaining of the data communications systems associated the SCADA l&C systems. This position is classified as a safety sensitive position. The individual holding this position is subject to random, unannounced drug and alcohol testing. This position is classified as secondary essential personnel. The individual holding this position will be required to work as required in (1) preparation for an emergency event and/or (2) during recovery from an emergency event directed by their direct supervisor, Department/Division Manager, the appropriate Senior Level Manager, or the General Manager. High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree in computer science is preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered. At least 1 year experience in Industrial & Automation and Utilities. At least 2 years of experience in computer software. Rockwell Automation Certification (RSLogix 5000/Studio 5000) preferred. Texas Driver's License with Insurable driving record Required. The base pay range for this position is $33.00/hr - $42.00/hr.
