Nationwide Children's Hospital . Overview Serve as an expert on data transformation and ETL processes in the research data warehouse. Design and optimize pipelines for OMOP and PCORnet models, lead complex data integration, and ensure compliance with best practices and audit standards. Support users with documentation and training. Improve database schemas using Oracle, SQL Server, and Unix Shell Scripting. Monitor data refreshes and enhance data architecture. Requires 5+ years in ETL, strong SQL and scripting skills, and experience with OMOP/PCORnet. Healthcare data experience and scalable ETL design are preferred. Job Description Summary Designs, develops, tests, and maintains complex software systems and applications for an organization's mainframe computer systems. Essential Functions: Develops and maintains complex software programs and applications. Designs and implements system enhancements to improve performance and reliability. Leads application and system design discussions and creation for presentation and review. Provides technical support and troubleshooting for system issues. Collaborates with other IT professionals to integrate new systems with existing infrastructure. Conducts research and evaluates emerging technologies to determine their potential impact on the organization. Documents system architecture and processes for future reference and training purposes. Provides mentoring and support to less experienced programmers. Education Requirement Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or relevant field, or equivalent experience, required. Master's Degree or PhD, preferred. Skills Ability to participate in effective mentoring relationships. Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, customer service, and communication skills. Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational, or process problems. Ability to complete tasks with high precision and analyze data. Knowledge of project management strategies and tactics. Ability to produce software products or systems aligned with requirements. Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools, and techniques, and relevant programming languages. Ability to write technical documents such as manuals, reports, and standards. Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and structured methodologies. Experience Five years in system or application programming, required. Two years in hospital information systems, preferred. Physical Requirements Occasionally: Bend/twist, climb stairs/ladder, lift/carry 0-10 lbs, push/pull 0-25 lbs, reach above shoulder, squat/kneel, stand, walk. Continuously: Audible speech, color vision, computer skills, decision-making, depth perception, hand use, hearing acuity, interpreting data, peripheral vision, problem solving, repetitive hand/arm use, seeing (far/near), sitting.
