Unified Communications Engineer - Principal role at Amentum. The Lone Wolf program supports, operates, and maintains the Distributed Continuity Integrated Network - Top Secret Enterprise Services (DCIN-TS ES), a DoD-provided, TS/SCI, integrated voice, video, and data global communications network that enables collaboration among senior leaders and key staff. Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive unified communications solutions tailored to organizational needs, focusing on scalability, security, and optimal performance. Install and configure unified communications systems, including VoIP, video conferencing, instant messaging, and collaboration platforms, ensuring seamless integration and functionality. Monitor and manage the performance and stability of UC infrastructure; proactively identify and resolve issues, and perform routine maintenance, updates, and security patches. Integrate UC systems with other IT components (network, Active Directory, cloud services) to create a cohesive environment that supports communication and collaboration. Implement security protocols to safeguard communications, data, and endpoints in compliance with security standards and regulations. Provide end-user technical support, troubleshoot issues, and deliver training to enhance user proficiency and system effectiveness. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for UC systems, including configurations, procedures, and best practices. Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to acquire hardware, software, and services, managing relationships to ensure timely delivery and alignment with organizational needs. Develop and uphold disaster recovery plans and procedures to maintain business continuity in case of system failures. Requirements

At least 15 years of telecommunications technical experience installing, administering, and upgrading Cisco Unified Communication appliances and troubleshooting converged networks that leverage Cisco UC capabilities to interconnect Cisco, Tandberg, and Polycom endpoints, gateways, and teleconference bridge products. Knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco IM & Presence, Cisco Expressway, Cisco Video Teleconferencing Systems, Cisco Session Border Controller, Cisco Meeting Server, Cisco Contact Center Express, VQ Conference Manager, Cisco Unity Connect, MS SQL Databases, Integrated Room Video Teleconferencing Control Systems, ELK Stack, and NetScout. Exceptional knowledge of Cisco Collaboration Call flows and SIP signaling. Knowledge of network fundamentals including firewalls, ACLs, simple network monitoring protocol, 802.1x authentication, and dynamic routing protocols. Experience with ESXi virtualization, Nutanix, and Docker. Familiarity with DISA STIGs and FIPS publications. Ability to independently deploy and maintain server-based dial plans and router-based dial plans; manage Cisco UC appliances. Experience configuring Cisco routers to act as VoIP gateways with strong Cisco IOS command syntax knowledge (12.x/15.x). Ability to troubleshoot end-to-end performance issues for voice and video conferences over IP and ISDN networks. Ability to work a 40-hour week (Mon–Fri) with overtime as needed and occasional travel (5–10%), primarily within 75 miles. Familiarity with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Project, Visio). Excellent attention to detail, verbal and written communication, critical thinking, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills; able to work independently or as part of a team. Clearance

Must have active Top-Secret clearance with SCI or TS with the ability to acquire SCI. Minimum Education

One of the following 8140 IAT Level III baseline certifications: CASP CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH Current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification Preferred

Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field Foundational knowledge/experience with Unified Messaging systems, audio conference bridges, voice circuits, and crypto technologies for voice systems Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Certification
