Job Description: The Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses & Control is seeking an experienced Drupal Developer to join our development team. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-traffic Drupal-based web applications and websites. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Drupal 8/9/10, strong PHP and OOP skills, and experience working across the full development lifecycle from concept to deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Drupal websites and web applications. Develop custom Drupal modules and themes using PHP, Twig, and JavaScript. Integrate third-party APIs and services, including CRMs, payment gateways, and authentication systems. Collaborate with project managers, designers, and developers to implement technical requirements. Optimize website performance, security, and scalability. Perform code reviews, mentor junior developers, and contribute to coding standards. Manage deployment processes using CI/CD pipelines and tools like Git. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Drupal core, modules, and integrations. Required Qualifications:
4+ years of professional experience in Drupal 8/9/10 development. Expert-level proficiency in PHP and OOP principles. Strong understanding of Drupal’s API, database architecture, caching, and security best practices. Experience developing custom modules and themes from scratch. Proficiency with front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3/Sass, modern JavaScript (React or Vue preferred). Experience with Drush, Composer, Git, and relational databases (MySQL/MariaDB). Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Desired Qualifications:
Experience with headless/decoupled Drupal architectures. Familiarity with DevOps practices, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Experience in performance tuning and monitoring. Active contributor to the Drupal open-source community. Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2).
