Overview
This is a full-time opportunity with an insurance and asset management firm that can be hybrid in Austin, TX or fully remote (EST/CST preferred). You’ll join a fast-paced infrastructure team supporting hybrid environments and large-scale cloud migration initiatives. The team is looking for a senior-level engineer with deep networking roots who has successfully transitioned into cloud infrastructure and can drive efforts across both traditional and modern systems. Responsibilities
Build and maintain secure cloud environments Lead Fortinet-based networking initiatives Optimize legacy deployments Collaborate with internal teams to ensure infrastructure reliability, security, and scalability across on-prem and cloud systems Required Skills & Experience
Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet (must-have) / FortiSuite, including greenfield builds 12+ years of networking experience, including 10+ years in infrastructure/network engineering roles 5+ years in cloud environments (Azure & AWS, Azure preferred) Proficiency with hybrid environments and large-scale cloud migrations Familiarity with Cisco, VMware, Nutanix, and Windows environments Strong grasp of system security, access control, and infrastructure operations Desired Skills & Experience
Linux system administration experience Background in regulated or enterprise IT environments Familiarity with observability, logging, or monitoring tools Relevant certifications (Fortinet, Azure, AWS) Experience leading or mentoring in infrastructure-focused teams What You WILL Be Doing
Tech Breakdown: 50% Cloud Infrastructure (Azure, AWS, Fortinet); 50% On-Prem Networking & Migration Projects (Fortinet, Cisco, VMware) Daily Responsibilities: 60% Hands-On Infrastructure Work and Optimization; 40% Collaboration Across Engineering and Infrastructure Teams The Offer
