Overview
Pre-Sales Power Engineer at Roeslein & Associates (Servtech, a Roeslein Company). This role focuses on supporting the design, engineering, procurement, and product life cycle management of large-scale custom manufactured electrical equipment in energy, mining, industrial power markets, and integrated bio-energy solutions. Responsibilities
Provide pre-sales and design support; act as a bridge between engineering teams and end-users. Review client specifications to ensure appropriate equipment is selected for the application. Develop applications to meet specific needs and business goals. Work with AutoCAD (Electrical AutoCAD preferred) to review and create: power one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, cable/conduit schedules, panel schedules, panel layouts, and BOMs. Size and select power distribution equipment (switchgear, motor control centers, panelboards, VFD panels, transformers, lighting panels, and other electrical equipment). Work with 480 VAC to 4,160 VAC 3-phase systems and equipment; manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Train internal and external stakeholders on Servtech UL solutions; provide customer interaction and bridge between engineering and business development teams. Ensure compliance with the National Electric Code and related standards (UL 508A, UL 891, NEC); support engineers and business development to meet project goals and deadlines. Uphold the company’s core values, safety standards, and professional conduct; participate in safety training and regulatory compliance. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power systems engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience in application engineering, design engineering, or technical support in electrical distribution, controls, or automation. Experience with utility, industrial, or data center electrical systems; AutoCAD drafting experience beyond a basic level is preferred. Knowledge of electrical power systems, protective devices, and control schemes; ETAP software experience preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication; strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to learn quickly, manage multiple projects, and interact effectively with coworkers, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders. Knowledge of NEC, UL 508A, UL 891, and related standards; ability to identify and resolve problems promptly. Work Environment & Physical Demands
Manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, noise, and varying conditions for short periods; PPE required. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; standing/walking for most of the day; ability to work from heights with appropriate PPE. Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $75,611 - $103,965.50 annually.
