The Propulsion System Chief Engineer leads all technical aspects of Propulsion Systems projects to achieve customer requirements and functional targets. Each System Project is managed through a System Table, and the Project System Chief Engineer is responsible to drive the Program at system level including, but not limited to, the Internal Combustion Engine, Calibration, Controls, Transmissions and/or Gearboxes, Engine Systems, HVAC & Driveline. The Propulsion System Chief Engineer makes the necessary optimization (System Engineering/System Design approach) / trade-off arbitrations for the entire system to achieve QCTP (Quality, Cost, Timing, Performance) targets. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Identify requirements and collect cross-functional department information/data/facts to make sound technical decisions in the appropriate forum to meet functional objectives within program scope. Make all final technical decisions for the powertrain function, communicating key technical decisions and issues to executive management. Ensure technical risks and issues have clear path to resolution. Ensure ER&D rollup is accurate and comprehensive and that core ER&D costs are allocated to the correct project. Approve powertrain description and Sub-System Technical Specifications (SSTS) aligned with phases/builds and sourcing activities. Chair the technical change review meeting to establish the best balanced (product and process) solution within the program scope. Approve technical aspects of IAA’s/CN’s, including appropriate Function Model/DVPR/DFMEA, sponsor them through the change review process. Ensure designs and systems follow CoE and benchmarking best practices with full use of upfront CAE analysis and simultaneous engineering. Confirm component and system designs and verification/validation testing are completed with efficient use of resources to reduce lead time and development costs. Support development timing, readiness and costs under the Family Management and Cost Management lead. Basic Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related degree field. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Significant experience in HD Diesel Engines development, with competences extended to the whole Propulsion Systems perimeter (Calibration, Controls, Aftertreatment). Strong understanding of engine design, validation, and manufacturing processes. High-level communication skills and ability to easily operate in an international, multicultural environment. Ability to proactively self-organize and to organize Team’s activities setting short term targets, prioritizing and recognizing issues. Problem-solving skills and knowledge of Project Management. Previous experience in ensuing Quality/Cost/Timing/Performance for the deliverable he/she was accountable for. Change management basics. Ability to rapidly react in a changing technical and planning environment. Strong target/result oriented approach. Fluent in written and spoken English. Preferred Qualifications

Master Degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or related degree field.
