Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering has an opening for a highly Experienced Structural Engineer in our Temporary Works Group. The ideal candidate will be part of a growing team that supports all aspects of the construction process by performing innovative design engineering through brainstorming conceptual designs, performing and/or reviewing structural calculations, developing plans, scheduling tasks to meet client needs, as well as mitigating risk to keep our construction crews safe. Kiewit is on a mission to have the premier marine construction fleet in North America. This group is dedicated to achieving that mission and supports design-build and build-build projects by providing analysis, design, and oversight for marine-related temporary works including: Temporary bridges and trestles, Cofferdams, Bridge falsework, Overwater construction platform, Barges and derricks, Marine Bulkheads, Marine shoring systems, Heavy Lift and RO/RO Operations, and Deep in-water foundations for keystone bridge projects. Location

This position could be based out of a multitude of our US offices: Lone Tree, CO Seattle, WA Houston, TX Manhattan, NY Woodcliff Lake, NJ Cranford, NJ Opportunities for flexible working arrangements and other office locations are available. Responsibilities

Develop drawings and calculations for temporary works and construction methods including heavy lift plans (site logistics, equipment selection, geometry/feasibility studies, design of custom rigging and lifting devices, hoisting and jacking systems, custom tools, and crane pad / working surface designs). Erection procedures or planned sequences related to construction or demolition operations. Evaluation of existing structures for construction loads and/or demolition planning. Structural analysis to ensure stability during the temporary condition of new bridges, viaducts, buildings, tunnels, and other structures (for example: construction staging, design of temporary falsework systems, and rebar cage hoisting and support). Support of excavation systems or cofferdams for construction below grade. Temporary bridges, trestles, work platforms, fall protection systems, formwork, and other features relating to our construction operations. Perform and/or review others’ calculations and design drawings, according to industry codes, standards, additional client design criteria, and structural theories. Ensure quality and accuracy of the design deliverables. Help to identify design risks and assist with risk mitigation planning. Assist in Project Management (budgets, schedules, quality control, and coordination / communication with clients). Other responsibilities include: Project on-site design engineering support, on-site inspections, training and mentoring E.I.T.’s, etc. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure project success. Conduct site inspections and provide technical support and oversight during operations. Mentor and lead engineers in their technical development. Contribute to technical proposals. Support the development of the TW Marine engineering team by building internal tools and processes. Unique to the Kiewit model: act as a facilitator of collaboration with construction teams during the design phase to achieve an optimal construction. Assist in Project Management (budgets, schedules, quality control, and coordination / communication with operations districts and clients). Qualifications

Experience with marine construction equipment, naval architecture, and hydrodynamics - could be in any single or a variety of different industries. Accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master’s degree or greater in Naval Architecture or similar field is preferred. 20+ years of relevant engineering/naval architecture experience. 5+ years of managing an engineering and design team of at least 5 engineers. Professional Engineer licensure or eligibility within the United States and Canada. Strong all-around academic knowledge of structural engineering, mechanical engineering and other disciplines. Experience with engineering design software will be an advantage; this includes AutoCAD, BlueBeam, MathCAD, SAP2000, Solidworks, RISA-3D, OPTIMOOR, FEMAP etc. Experience with working in a team setting. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with individuals at all levels of the organization. Strong inter-personal skills and an ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Ability to organize and handle multiple project assignments. Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments. Other Requirements
