Job Summary The successful candidate will have a proven track record leading and performing diverse and complex work in traffic engineering, mentoring, and management. This position offers a hybrid schedule of in-office and remote work. As a technical expert, you will play a key role in project work and in cultivating relationships with clients. You will help us achieve a profitable operation and foster an inclusive work environment. You will be a vital member of our national traffic engineering practice, working with South Carolina transportation leadership to grow traffic engineering in the state. The ideal candidate has previous leadership responsibilities and expertise in traffic engineering, including: Capacity and Microsimulation Analysis Safety Studies and Crash Predictive Analysis Traffic Volume Development and Forecasting Traffic Studies Signal Timing and Design ITS Planning and Design Responsibilities Project Delivery & Technical Excellence Lead traffic engineering services for SCDOT and local clients. Manage projects and discipline-specific tasks, including scope, schedule, budget, and quality. Ensure quality through thorough reviews of deliverables. Develop technical strategies with the national traffic engineering team. People Development Supervise, coach, and mentor junior staff. Recruit qualified personnel to promote team growth. Coordinate work priorities and resources. Client Relationships & Marketing Engage in marketing to grow our client base and secure new work. Build partnerships with consulting firms for business development. Assist in proposal generation, client discovery, and pursuit activities. Minimum Qualifications ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in Civil, Transportation, Electrical Engineering, or related field. PE License. Minimum 10 years of traffic engineering experience with proven leadership. Proficiency in software and design documentation. Excellent communication skills with clients and leadership. Preferred Qualifications Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) license. Experience with SCDOT projects. Leadership experience in traffic engineering teams.
