Overview

This position is on the construction team responsible for SCADA systems and related communications for renewable energy projects. The SCADA Project Engineer will coordinate with multiple stakeholders to develop conceptual designs and manage procurement, final detailed designs, commissioning, and acceptance testing for renewable energy projects. SCADA & IT systems may include RTACs, RTUs, plant controllers, network switches, firewalls, annunciators, HMIs and associated connectivity for wind, solar and battery storage projects. Responsibilities
Specification and configuration of SCADA, power plant controller, RTU, and IT equipment Develop conceptual project designs that meet stakeholder and interconnection requirements Creation of conceptual block diagrams Review detailed design drawings thoroughly Track design schedules, update stakeholders, and meet critical dates Organize and transfer as-built documentation to operations (schematics, BOMs, programming settings) Coordinate procurement and installation of telecom services Interface with plant controller manufacturers, transmission operators, generator owners and operators to configure systems Coordinate networking equipment configuration, interfaces, IP addresses, and firewall rules Monitor construction progress remotely and on-site; provide on-site programming and field support during commissioning; resolve field issues Attend in-person meetings with stakeholders Ensure compliance with applicable NERC requirements; lead operational plans to energize, commission and turnover projects while maintaining NERC compliance Coordinate with independent engineers and project partners during technical due diligence Assist in developing new projects by analyzing conceptual designs and RFQ specifications Coordinate with operations engineering and third-party customers to incorporate lessons learned Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry technology through training and conferences Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline 3+ years of generation SCADA systems experience Knowledge of physical and software aspects of networking equipment for renewable assets Advanced knowledge and programming of SCADA, HMI, PLC platforms Experience with industrial communication protocols such as OPC, DNP3, ModBus and EGD Experience around HV/MV electrical infrastructure (substations, switchyards, distribution, transmission lines, transformers, relays, meters, CTs, PTs) Eligible to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship now or in the future Up to 25% travel required Valid driver’s license Preferred Qualifications
Prior installation, commissioning and site construction experience in renewable power generation Experience with GE WindSCADA, GE WindCONTROL, Vestas Online Business, SEL RTAC, and/or Ignition by Inductive Automation Knowledge of NERC compliance for low impact cyber systems Ability to coordinate and manage multiple concurrent projects Strong computer/server operation knowledge Strong project management, oral and written communication, and leadership skills #remotework, #workfromhome, #remotejobs Compensation and Benefits
Base Pay: $97,000.00 - $120,000.00 USD annually Bonus: 20% - 30% The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Total compensation may include bonus eligibility.
