What will you be doing in this role?
A Clinical Nurse II (CN II) is a proficient clinician who provides nursing care in an ambulatory setting. Independently prioritizes and delivers diligent and effective patient care in a variety of patient situations using appropriate decision-making skills. Demonstrates competence in the technical, interpersonal and cognitive skills required to independently and safely manage routine patient assignments. Nursing care is delivered using standards of care by following approved policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Plans and implements individualized patient care based on observations. Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) monitoring to maintain or improve care of designated patient population. Initiates emergency procedures when indicated and ensures proper reporting and referrals per standardized procedures. Demonstrates refined assessment skills, integrating data sources to assess signs, symptoms, reactions, behaviors, or general appearance to determine normal versus abnormal characteristics. Provides direct and indirect care services, including administration of medications and therapeutic agents to implement treatment, disease prevention, or rehabilitative plan of care. Performs skin tests, immunizations, phlebotomy, and initiation of peripheral venous access. Observes signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to medications/treatments, general behavior, and/or general physical condition. Prioritizes identified patient care problems within assigned patients and assumes responsibility for problem resolution using available resources. Plans patient care and education based on disease process, anticipated outcomes, complications, and psychosocial needs in collaboration with other healthcare team members. Provides care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds, assessing readiness for learning and ability to follow directions/instructions and give consent. Demonstrates knowledge to identify and make adjustments for specific population needs, including cultural, spiritual, age, psychosocial, communication, gender, sexual orientation, economic, education, family and condition considerations. Participates in evidence-based improvement initiatives and/or councils/committees that improve nursing outcomes and the work environment in their unit/department. Identifies and assesses patient safety concerns with respect to age and development, intervening to provide a safe environment and evaluating intervention effectiveness. Provides and accurately documents direct and indirect patient care services to ensure safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients in a timely manner. Note:

Qualifications
Education: Associate\'s degree/College diploma in Nursing required. Bachelor\'s degree in Science in Nursing (state-accredited program) preferred. License and Certification: California RN state license required. Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required (BLS expiration date must be valid 60 days from the start date). ANCC Specialty Certification preferred. ONS Chemo/Immunotherapy certified preferred. Experience: One (1) year of relevant ambulatory or acute care experience in the area of specialty required; 2 years preferred.
