Interra Credit Union As a Commercial Lender III, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring a loan portfolio in the range of $50M - $75M to ensure proper risk ratings and early identification of potential problems as well as focusing on developing new and enhancing relationships with potential and existing members. Grow the average products per household, member business loans, and new share growth. Support the Credit Union's culture through ongoing member contact, quality member services, and superior product knowledge. HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT 35% Accountable for the oversight and growth of a commercial lending portfolio. Responsible for a specified amount of business loans and deposit production expectations that will be required to be met on an ongoing basis. Portfolio management expectations will have delinquency, covenant tracking, and credit risk ratings monitored to ensure that loans are being made and maintained within policy and procedural guidelines. 25% Responsible for new business development and secure relationships with centers of influence in the area of commercial real estate and Commercial and Industrial (C & I) lending through community involvement, networking events, and non-profit boards. 20% Follows up on referrals, identifying new relationship opportunities, and identifies cross sell opportunities to educate members and non-members on credit union products and services. Initiate, create, and deliver commercial lending and deposit presentations for local businesses and internal credit union seminars. 15% Interviews member loan applicants to identify commercial business loan needs, collect applicable information, evaluate income and their overall financial condition. Explains loan programs and recommends options. 5% Completes required annual training courses provided by the training and compliance department. Continuous engagement with personal learning and development. WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED Experience 7+ years' commercial lending experience in the finance industry. Education / Certifications / Licenses Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Business Administration, or related field. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. PREFERRED SKILLS Demonstrated knowledge of Credit Union regulations, products, policies, procedures, and services. Ability to establish oneself as a people and sales and service leader in the branch. Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Must be able to work in a team environment with the ability to interact in a positive manner with peers, management, and other departments. Professional level of verbal and written communication skills are essential to the position. Advanced analytical and project management skills for a variety of tasks or projects. Ability to motivate or influence internal staff and external members is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of influence and trust. Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets, variables, and situations. Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize work to meet commitments by breaking down objectives into appropriate actions and anticipate and adjust plans as needed. ADA REQUIREMENTS Physical Requirements Able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance. Working Conditions Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise. Mental and/or Emotional Requirements Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of member service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
