Accounting Manager - New York, NY
We are seeking candidates for an Accounting Manager position to join a highly successful German based company located in New York, NY. The Accounting Manager will oversee the global monthly close process and ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial operations across multiple entities. This role will be instrumental in supporting audits, implementing controls, and improving accounting processes, while coordinating with both internal teams and external partners. We are seeking candidates for an Accounting Manager position to join a highly successful German based company located in New York, NY. The Accounting Manager will oversee the global monthly close process and ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial operations across multiple entities. This role will be instrumental in supporting audits, implementing controls, and improving accounting processes, while coordinating with both internal teams and external partners. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of accounting experience with a strong understanding of IFRS, US GAAP, and NetSuite.
This is a 3 month contract position that will pay $80-85/hr (depending on experience) within a 40-hour work week. Qualified candidates who are 100% remote will be considered.
Responsibilities:
Manage the monthly close process across multiple international entities, including Latvia, US, Brazil, Singapore, Japan, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Canada. Implement and maintain a standardized preparer/reviewer model to strengthen financial controls and accountability. Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of all material balance sheet accounts across global entities. Oversee transactional processing activities, with a focus on Germany, Singapore, and Japan. Support ongoing Deloitte audits and compliance efforts for fiscal years 2023 and 2024, as needed. Assist with Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and personnel-related support in Latvia, US, Brazil, and Canada. Participate in onboarding and training of permanent accounting support staff. Support the implementation of IFRS adjustments for prior periods within NetSuite. Validate historical NetSuite balances for consistency with the consolidated financial reporting file. Contribute to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance initiatives and help drive process improvements to streamline the close cycle and strengthen internal controls.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. CPA or equivalent certification preferred. 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including international consolidation and multi-entity close processes. Experience working with NetSuite or a similar ERP system. Must have a solid understanding of IFRS and US GAAP accounting standards. Prior experience supporting global subsidiaries and multi-currency accounting. Experience supporting audits and working with external auditors. Strong organizational and analytical skills, with a proven ability to manage competing priorities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience working in a SOX-compliant environment is a plus. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
