Join to apply for the Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor role at Inside Higher Ed. This is a full-time, 12-month non-tenure-track position based at the University of Florida (UF) in Gainesville, FL, starting Fall 2025. The primary duties include coordination of the clinical education program for Doctor of Audiology (AuD) students and teaching. Responsibilities
Coordinate clinical education for AuD students, including assigning practicum placements and externships. Supervise AuD students in clinical experiences and track progress toward clinical certification requirements. Develop and oversee affiliation agreements with external clinical placement sites; explore new clinical site locations and placements. Ensure clinical experiences are standardized across locations. Teach upper-division undergraduate and graduate courses supporting audiology and hearing sciences. Engage in service activities, including student mentorship and participation on departmental and college committees. Minimum Qualifications
AuD or PhD in audiology, hearing sciences, or a closely related field. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC). Florida licensure in audiology or eligibility for licensure. Preferred Qualifications
AuD and PhD in audiology or hearing sciences (or closely related field). Minimum of five years of full-time clinical service provision in audiology. At least three years of experience supervising graduate audiology students or equivalent clinical education/administration experience. Experience directing clinical simulations and telehealth practice; familiarity with medical audiology and college-level teaching. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; track record of teaching and service. About UF SLHS
The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) is part of the College of Public Health and Health Professions (PHHP) at the University of Florida and is integrated with UF Health Science Center. Degrees offered include AuD, MS in Communication Sciences and Disorders, and BHSc in Communication Sciences and Disorders, with PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences (including a concentration in Communication and Swallowing Sciences and Disorders).
