Overview

Position Description: As an Application Software Engineer specializing in COTS support, you will ensure the stability, performance, and integration of essential Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications. You will diagnose complex issues by deep diving into application code and databases, collaborate with vendors and internal teams, and become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the application functionality and architecture. Responsibilities

Ensure stability, performance, and integration of COTS applications. Collaborate with vendors, designers, product managers, engineers, and other cross-functional teams. Develop SME-level knowledge of application functionality and architecture. Required Qualifications

1+ year of professional experience in software development, system integration, or supporting enterprise COTS applications by investigating codebases and database structures. Proficiency in Java, Python, or JavaScript. Experience with web technologies (HTML, CSS, Angular, React, Vue.js). Database management experience (MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL; Microsoft SQL Server is core). Familiarity with Windows Server operating systems. Strong problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills. Ability to analyze/interpret existing application codebases, logs, and database schemas. Familiarity with API integration (REST, SOAP) for connecting COTS applications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work in a team environment. Willingness to learn new technologies/methodologies and take initiative; adaptable to changing priorities. Qualifications (Nice to Have)

Experience with MQTT protocol Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Familiarity with JIRA for project management Proficiency in working with JSON data structures Education
