Our Linguists are responsible for performing real-time transcriptions of sensitive material from Spanish to English; collecting, analyzing, identifying, and decoding colloquialisms and slang terms; extracting pertinent information and communicating that information to law enforcement agents. The linguist will transcribe source documents and recordings from storage media, including audiocassettes, videocassettes, or digital media. Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Listen to oral and written intercepts or pre-recorded communications in Spanish and provide verbal and written synopsis and transcriptions as applicable per project. Relate all pertinent information to the client when supporting a live project. Contribute to a master-list of slang words and codes used by a particular group/organization for the duration of the project/case. Maintain a voice library for the duration of the project. Transcribe and translate pertinent calls and documents as assigned by supervisor. Produce court-ready transcriptions of pertinent calls, chats, and documents following the required format. Use various reference tools created during the project. Transcribe a minimum of 16 minutes of recorded conversation in an 8-hour day. Operate government-provided software/equipment including JSI voice box, Pen-link, Comverse, and other communication collection equipment at the assigned site. Maintain a daily log of productivity. Perform related duties as assigned within the scope of practice. Minimum Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years’ professional experience OR Associate degree with five (5) years’ professional experience OR a High School Diploma with seven (7) years’ experience. Minimum of one (1) year of transcription experience in the required language. Select applicants may be subject to a government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to access classified information. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Knowledge of source language colloquial terms and expressions; familiarity with SMS language, social media, and webchat. Excellent verbal and written skills in the target language, including correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Must meet contract requirement of a score of 3 or better on a third-party Language Assessment (Listening/Speaking/Reading/Writing) in English and Spanish. Strong computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with management and law enforcement personnel. Ability to prioritize, manage time effectively, meet deadlines, balance multiple tasks, and work in a team environment. Ability to take technical direction and feedback from various sources. Typing speed: 45 words per minute. Clearance & Background Investigation

Ability to obtain/maintain a Security Clearance Favorable credit check for cleared positions Successfully passing a background investigation and drug screen US Citizen Must have lived in the US for the past 3 out of 5 years, consecutively Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
