www.gridunited.com . The Position Grid United is seeking an energetic and experienced

Environmental Manager / Senior Environmental Manager

to support multiple large-scale linear infrastructure projects. The role involves managing complex environmental permitting processes, supporting routing and siting decisions, executing permitting strategies, managing external consultants, and coordinating with agencies and tribes. The position is based in downtown Houston, Texas, reporting to the VP Environmental, John Kuba. Key Responsibilities Manage environmental compliance and permitting for major infrastructure projects. Support transmission line routing considering environmental sensitivities and policy requirements. Manage third-party environmental consultants. Conduct environmental due diligence and define permitting strategies. Oversee environmental studies, reports, and compliance documentation. Coordinate with agencies, tribes, and stakeholders. Ideal Candidate Proven in managing environmental issues and permitting for large-scale energy projects, familiar with NEPA, NHPA, and ESA, with experience in federal permitting processes, preferably transmission projects. Candidate should be customer-centric, strategic, and collaborative, with a passion for energy and the transmission grid. Requirements Track record in permitting support for energy projects, especially electric transmission. Effective communication with federal, tribal, state agencies, and stakeholders. Knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and standards. Understanding of environmental issues related to infrastructure development. Experience with GIS and land use planning. Bachelor's or Master's in environmental-related fields. 5+ years in environmental compliance and permitting within the energy sector. Personal Attributes Strategic, decisive, and influential.
