Overview
Federal Work Study – Wellness/ Food Pantry at Daley College, City Colleges of Chicago (CCC). The program provides subsidized part-time employment for eligible students in alignment with their area of study. Wage assistance is available for educational and living expenses. The position involves serving as a transfer ambassador and supporting transfer-related activities and student services on campus. Base pay
$17.00/hr - $19.00/hr Responsibilities
Under the direction of the assigned supervisor, the Transfer Ambassador acts as the CCC student representative to prospective students, current students, faculty, staff, and the public. Provide transfer mentorship for up to 25 currently enrolled students. Help guide current students toward CCC resources (College Advisor, Transfer Center, DAC, Tutoring, Wellness, etc.). Answer questions that students may have about student life at City Colleges of Chicago. Provide information about university partnerships and how to enroll. Encourage student participation in CCC transfer and university partner events. Participate in and support the execution of on-campus transfer activities. Copy materials used for transfer fairs, workshops and conferences. Set a positive and supportive introduction to the transfer student experience for new and returning students. Attend training sessions as required. Adhere to the City Colleges of Chicago Customer Service Excellence Standards. Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be 16 years or older, have work permit consent, and be eligible to work in the United States. Applicants must be actively attending one of the City Colleges of Chicago. Applicants must be enrolled in a minimum of 11 semester hours of credit classes with a minimum of 15 graduation credit hours completed. Applicants must be pursuing an approved educational degree. Applicants must have and maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA (waived for first semester new students). Applicants must be in good standing – no City Colleges of Chicago academic restrictions. Applicants must not be current Full or Part-time employees of the City Colleges of Chicago. All positions are employment at-will. Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma required or actively pursuing a GED at the City Colleges of Chicago. Knowledge of City Colleges of Chicago. Excellent oral communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. Promotes a positive role model and favorable public image as City Colleges of Chicago representative. Adheres to the City Colleges of Chicago Customer Services Excellence Standards. Good interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and demonstrably self-motivated. Experience with Microsoft Office, customer service, strong communication, attention to detail and data entry. The hourly pay rate for this position is $17-$19 hourly. Offered rate will be determined based on whether assigned location is on campus or off campus.
