Job Summary
The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team within the division of Pediatric Critical Care at Children’s Medical Center (practice sites at the Dallas and Plano campuses). This position primarily functions in the Intermediate Care Unit caring for patients with complex anatomy and physiology. Patients in this unit no longer require intensive care but need more support than on the general floor. The role requires autonomy, critical thinking, and clinical expertise in working with critically ill pediatric patients. The APP is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, consultation, and care coordination for patients and families.
Scheduled Hours:
24/7 (rotating holidays)

Minimum Requirements
Master's degree or higher in nursing with documentation of completion of an accredited Advanced Practice Education Program, or graduate of an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program.
Licensure as a Pediatric Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (CPNP-AC) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) with prescriptive authority in Texas.
Current BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications.
Preferred Experience
One year of pediatric critical care experience as an APP is preferred.
Job Duties
Conduct and document physical examinations based on age and diagnosis.
Develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans, including diagnostic testing.
Perform technical/procedural skills as appropriate.
Provide management, referrals, counseling, and education to patients and families.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Collaborate in research projects and apply evidence-based practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
