2025-26 Assistant Wrestling Coach .5 - Horizon HS Location: Horizon High School FTE: .5 Amount: $1,215.50 Season Dates: 11/3/2025 - 2/7/2026 Employer: Paradise Valley Unified School District Responsibilities

Design and implement program activities in accordance with applicable rules and regulations related to the sport. Provide supervision of student athletes during all aspects of participation. Use sound instructional techniques in overseeing the program. Serve as a positive role model to student athletes and to the community and organizations. Assigned to a position for a specific sport at the Varsity, JV/Frosh or Junior High level. Report to the Athletic Director. Essential functions include: Assess student athletes to provide feedback on individual performance and team placement. Attend meetings, workshops, and conferences to receive and convey information related to the role. Communicate with parents, students, officials, administrators, and community for information and direction. Instruct student athletes to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Maintain records (e.g., statistics, permits, emergency information, schedules, equipment inventories) to comply with district, athletic conference, and state requirements. Manage uniforms, equipment, and facilities responsibly and safely. Monitor academic eligibility and provide appropriate intervention to maintain eligibility. Supervise student athletes during all participation areas to minimize risk of injury. Teach sports techniques, rules, strategies, and tactics for competition preparation. Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient functioning of the work unit. Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications

Skills, Knowledge And Abilities

SKILLS are required to perform multiple technical tasks with occasional skill upgrades. Specific competencies include: adapting to changing work priorities; administering first aid; applying laws, codes, policies, and regulations; organizing and communicating information and concepts. KNOWLEDGE includes basic math (fractions, percents, ratios); interpreting technical information; writing technical materials; speaking persuasively to implement actions; analyzing situations. Knowledge of equipment used in activity/program; injury prevention and treatment protocols; relevant laws and regulations; participant eligibility; attendance and discipline guidelines; public relations protocols; safety practices and procedures. ABILITY includes scheduling activities, gathering data, and considering various factors when using equipment. Flexibility to work with others in different circumstances; working with diverse groups; handling data of varied types; operating equipment. Ability to lead, maintain confidentiality, meet deadlines, and model sportsmanship. Strong communication with diverse audiences; firm, fair discipline; setting priorities; extended hours as needed. Education and Clearances
