Overview
The Department of Biological and Forensic Sciences invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Biological Sciences, effective Spring 2026. A PhD in biology or a closely related field is required. The successful candidate will teach courses such as zoology, anatomy and physiology, vertebrate physiology, and general biology, and develop and teach new courses in the Biology Program. The position also includes advising/mentoring students, serving on department/college/university committees, building and maintaining professional relationships with local and regional organizations, and establishing an active externally funded research program involving undergraduate students. New tenure-track assistant professors will receive a 20% reduction in annual teaching effort during the first two years of the probationary employment.
Responsibilities

Advise/mentor students and participate in department, college, and university committees.
Establish and maintain professional relationships with local, regional, and organizations to support the program.
Develop and maintain an active externally funded research program involving undergraduate students.
Minimum Education and Experience
A PhD in Biology or a closely related field is required.
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in Biology or closely related field with a record of teaching, research, and service commensurate with the rank of tenure-track Assistant Professor.
Demonstrated commitment to student engagement, success, and mentoring.
Evidence of service to the profession and/or community.
